WWE Monday Night RAW Rating Is In For -- July 11th, 2011

Last night's 7/11 WWE Monday Night RAW drew a 2.9 cable rating, with 4.3 million viewers. The first hour drew a 2.86 (2.9), while the second hour drew a 2.96 (3.0). The Home Run Derby did a 4.8 metered market rating last night which is the same as least year. It hurt the RAW rating a little as seen with the 2.9 this week.
This is up from last week's 4th of July holiday show that drew a 2.4, but down from the 3.1 rating two weeks ago on 6/27.

Anti-Cena Crowd Expected In Chicago

The Chicago Tribune is featuring an interview with WWE Champion John Cena who talks about expecting a very hostile crowd this Sunday in Chicago, Illinois at the Money in the Bank PPV where he will defend his title against CM Punk.
“Chicago fans greeted me with a ‘(Expletive) you, Cena’ chant. Chicago fans cheer and boo who they want. They’re great fans whether they like me or not. They show you how they feel. I don’t like crowds that sit on their hands. CM Punk is truly very proud of his city, and I think the city embraces him for it. He wears the Chicago flag on his trunks. Whether it will be more anti-Cena or more pro-CM Punk, I think it will really be great.”
Cena also discusses the frustration of how WWE operates in the storyline involving CM Punk and how others like MVP voice a similar opinion before moving on.
“Here’s a guy (Punk) who literally is a pure-bred wrestler, who loves the business and loves being able to go out and compete. I can understand his frustration. But you can’t ignore the attraction of The Rock being involved. I know he’s not going to leave wrestling. He’s leaving WWE. There’s a difference. CM Punk doesn’t feel he’s been treated properly in WWE. We’ve had this problem before. MVP was another one who felt he wasn’t treated well and has gone on to have a prolific career in Japan. Same with A-Train. I have more respect for a guy who leaves the company to better himself in another territory. But all roads lead back to Rome. If you’re successful, you’ll find your way back.”

Jericho Tour Bus Accident

Chris Jericho’s band Fozzy was involved in an automobile accident last night in Europe as the tour bus he was traveling on skidded on two wheels for fifty feet, resulting in the side door being torn off and the entire bus windshield being smashed. The former WWE Superstar and his band mates are okay, though their scheduled appearance tonight in Denmark is canceled.
“Last night as I was riding on the Anthrax bus, Fozzy’s bus was in an accident. The band is ok thank God, but the bus is trashed so we won’t be able to play the show in Denmark tonight. Hamburg is still on for tomorrow. Its a miracle nobody got hurt, as the bus skidded on two wheels for 50 feet and the side door was completely torn off. Say a prayer for the boys and stay tuned for more info. Now I’m on a train from Aarhaus to Hamburg with nothing but a toothbrush and a pair of flip flops. Could be worse…”

Was Drew McIntyre Injured Last Night?

Drew McIntyre is said to be okay following the scary and unplanned fall he took from the WWE stage last night after Mark Henry tackled the Big Show.
McIntyre was shook up following the spot, but was cleared by trainers and EMT's at the venue. He did not go to the hospital.

STATE OF THE 'E: Fight The Machine

I'm sitting at home awaiting one of my favorite shows: WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!! During the signature, I'm always promised "We Have A Great Show" and then we get into the meat of it.
Tonight, something strange happened. Something in my eyes I thought I wouldn't see for at least a couple more years. My 6 year old boy looked at me and said:
"I don't think I like this anymore."
I looked down at him completely shocked and obviously asked him why. His response was something I knew was coming but, possibly didn't want to happen.
"It's boring. All they do is talk. I wanna see them fight. I wanna see John Cena do what he did a few years ago."
Now, my son is one of the biggest Cena marks you will ever come across. I watch a lot of old school/attitude era/ruthless agression era in my household on any given day and he's obviously been exposed to "Heel" John Cena. This character we all lovingly refer to as "Super Cena" is definitely wearing thin. We the adults have known this for quite some time now but it seems like some kids may be coming around. In the last couple weeks he's gone more into liking different wrestlers. Hell, his action figures used to NEVER have another Champion other than Cena. I think his reign has been 3 years now. (Could you imagine that crap for real? My god!) Now, Morrison, Sheamus and CM Punk have all been Champion within the last couple weeks.
I'm nowhere near trying to base my one child's opinion on every other child's opinion but realistically, all it takes is just one to start the wheel. I'm not saying he's the one but, there will eventually be kids at the shows booing Cena. Then what would VKM do? When his cash cow is all dried out and no more can be squeezed from it, how will they handle the situation?
Cena's time is coming. One way or another either his career will be done or he'll turn heel. I cannot forsee him staying this same way for much more longer. We all know when he was in The Nexus that would have been the best heel turn in quite some time but, that was at the beginning of the Bullying campaign... BECAUSE of The Nexus, they had to show that THE 'E wouldn't stand for it. They did and effectively killed the generation of what could have been a huge monster.
Either way, as adults we've been tired of this for quite some time now and we've been frothing at the mouth for a change. I wonder if VKM even notices anything other than the dollar signs flashing when Cena walks?
Everyone knows that I am a mark for THE 'E and I will defend them on a lot of things. Personally, I've felt for the last month and a half, let alone the whole year, the quality has been there but apparently a lot of people feel differently.
I cannot defend THE 'E on this one though, in my personal opinion John Cena needs a change. I'm liking the direction of the actual company itself as I displayed in my last blog.
But based on the knowledge that my son, a huge Cena mark is yearning for something more when he's supposed to be the "demographic" they're aiming for now... how does this work into their plans? Will more kids start to feel this way? How much longer can they ride this current train until it falls off the tracks?

STATE OF THE 'E: Get Excited About The "New" Era

I've been following the world that VKM created (Because lets face it, the one his father made was WAY different.) since about 1986. I was two years old and I was exposed to the likes of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Bret "The Hitman" Hart, and so many others that I was hooked indefinitely.
Then a few stars left and an influx of more came... Now we're into 1987-1988 and my world of following professional wrestling expanded around this time and I started knowing of NWA (Which would soon be WCW.) and the joys of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, the rest of the Horsemen and many, many others as well. A lot of people came to WWF from NWA and of course, the other way as well.
1993 hits, Hogan just won the Championship again but is getting ready to jump ship to the full on WCW and the World of professional wrestling is in a friggin' uproar. Many insane things happened in the 1993-1995 area, Monday Night Raw, Nitro, "THE WAR"... everything was fresh, new and exciting. Stories were really developing into something more than "personal" feuds. Although, that is still the basis of damn near every feud in existence.
And then we hit the nWo in 1996 and "The Montreal Screwjob" in 1997... mainstream media is picking up on wrestling again much like it did in the 80's during "The Rock + Wrestling Connection"... my world was great. It's around this time I discovered Japanese Wrestling promotions and Mexican ones as well. SO many to choose from and many things to keep me busy.
1999 now and we're full on into the best period of the MNW and we're seeing the emergence of Smackdown! and Thunder, more shows having more talent and more storylines, continuing from Raw and Nitro. So many things to choose from... 2001 comes and WWF officially won the MNW and the landscape was settling. WCW stars were integrating, no new talent was really needed to fill any gaps, 2003 came and "The Attitude Era" was done. "Ruthless Aggression" took its place and the product started to falter. WWE became its name and now it's nowhere near what it used to be and people started falling away from watching, ratings were lowering, people were looking for something different and around this time a little company owned by Panda Energy started making noise... TNA had started up fully and we all thought things might go back to the way they've been for the last 6 or 7 years.
We were not so lucky. THE 'E fell down farther than before due to not creating many new talents to follow all of the "mega" stars from the 80's and 90's. TNA wasn't making as much of an... iMPACT! (Sorry, had to.) as we hoped it would and things just got quiet. 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 passed without a true nod. In 2008 THE 'E became PG again like in the 80's and only the hardcore fans really noticed.
Flash forward to 2011 and here we are with the lowest ratings in years, BUT we have a new generation starting to rise up and get out there with all of the new media generating. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter are all places that these new stars can cut their teeth at promos, making the most out of their characters and get time to shine. THE 'E hasn't fully accepted the internet and everything that it can do but, it's trying. It's trying to stay viable in a market that has a different feel to it than it did 5, 10 or even 20 years ago.
With the advent of DVR's, pirating, free streams, cable ratings are horrible and yes, there can be a few more things to add to why they're not doing well too. Maybe the lack of stars created in the last few years, maybe the way they've handled themselves since the world of Wrestling hasn't been the main focus like it was when it was on TV Guide.
Then came last Monday, June 27th, 2011. THE 'E did something they haven't done in many years... they stirred up enough controversy to get people talking again. CM Punk took the stage and began a whole "worked-shoot" promo that turned the world of wrestling on its head and it was a breath of fresh air in a very stale environment. No one can truly predict where THE 'E is headed with this or how they plan to capitolize on the current push. With their name in the tops of the Twitter feeds, and YouTube racking up views, with all of this newfound attention and a much needed "attitude"... THE 'E seem to be up to something.
Have they finally found their way of staying viable in an over saturated market where you're only as good as the attention you can keep for more than 5 minutes of our over caffeinated brains and multitasking ways of life? MTV isn't the only way to get through like it was in the 80's, being edgy on cable isn't the way through like it was in the 90's. Social media is the new wave of marketability and THE 'E seem to be finally utilizing some of it. Now all they have to do is find a way to combat the dwindling cable views but in all reality, in a world where the computer is more dominant, they should be recording that traffic as well and I'm sure they finally are.
Zack Ryder recently defended his "Internet Championship" at a house show in Australia. Maybe that's a new way to go. No other company has such a thing and in reality, that could be something ineresting to tap into. Ryder is mainly on Superstars which in many parts of the World can only be seen online. You could have Ryder come out and taunt the crowd about the only way to see this belt defended is by going online to watch Superstars, or any of the other wrestlers who have it at that point. This all could be a very exciting time for THE 'E... a new era could be coming into play. With the writers seeming to have gained balls and the appearance of VKM apparently liking some of the capabilities of the Internet, you can't help but feel that a new era may finally be happening.
One where the stars might have a little more freedom within their promos but obviously stratling that PG line and not to mention you can get away with a little more on the Internet. All they have to do is combine the two in a major way and the explosion we could get would be amazing. Monday Nights could possibly live up the the RAW name again.
It's also a way to prove that blood and chair shots aren't needed, especially if you read my last blog, you'll understand why. The world is changing and everything needs to stay viable. THE 'E may have just found its position and lets hope that they reign it in and master it. Because we all know when THE 'E puts their mind to something, they dominate it.

No other company has such a thing and in reality, that could be something ineresting to tap into. Ryder is mainly on Superstars which in many parts of the World can only be seen online. You could have Ryder come out and taunt the crowd about the only way to see this belt defended is by going online to watch Superstars, or any of the other wrestlers who have it at that point. This all could be a very exciting time for THE 'E... a new era could be coming into play. With the writers seeming to have gained balls and the appearance of VKM apparently liking some of the capabilities of the Internet, you can't help but feel that a new era may finally be happening.
One where the stars might have a little more freedom within their promos but obviously stratling that PG line and not to mention you can get away with a little more on the Internet. All they have to do is combine the two in a major way and the explosion we could get would be amazing. Monday Nights could possibly live up the the RAW name again.
It's also a way to prove that blood and chair shots aren't needed, especially if you read my last blog, you'll understand why. The world is changing and everything needs to stay viable. THE 'E may have just found its position and lets hope that they reign it in and master it. Because we all know when THE 'E puts their mind to something, they dominate it.

STATE OF THE 'E: The PG/Hep C Connection

No, it's not an awesome new Tag-Team. Nope, not a train route or bus route either. It's apparently a VERY interesting epidemic within the world of Professional Wrestling for a VERY long time now. What a better time to examine what we know?
There's a documentary coming out called "Don't Bleed On Me". If you haven't seen any of the trailers or watched any of the clips, I suggest you do so. It's about the Hepatitis C epidemic that has been making its way through Wrestling since the late 70's. From what I've seen, no one in particular has come clean about it in all these years except for the most recent, Desmond Wolfe or as ROH fans know him: Nigel McGuinness. Technically, he didn't say it out right but, it's definitely implied.
And of course, the reason the documentary "Don't Bleed On Me" exists, Abdullah The Butcher. This is taken from Eric Gargiulo who used to commentate for CZW:
And it seems that a couple of the people Abdullah passed the virus onto was "Superstar" Billy Graham and possibly The Honky Tonk Man. Now, none of these guys are coming clean but, why offer such reasoning if there is none? Graham has gone so far to want his name PULLED from THE 'E's HOF because of this.
With all of this going on in all of the Indy places and apparently in TNA as well (with all of the drugs and insane politicking going on there, why not add Hep C to it? Geez.) I commend THE 'E very much on going PG and stopping the blood loss. Of course there's going to be an idiot here making a reply about "NO BLOOD = NO WRESTLING" or some crap like that but truth of the matter is, THE 'E needs to protect their guys. Hepatitis C is a VERY serious disease and is nothing to mess with and with at least one company stopping the blades, maybe the others will follow suit. Watching the documentary brought back memories of an indy show many years ago in New Jersey and an incident I’ll never forget with Abdullah the Butcher. Abdullah was wrestling Jerry Lawler on a Dennis Coraluzzo/Larry Sharpe show. Lawler was managed by a pro wrestler named “Tricky” Nicky who happened to be a friend of mine. Abdullah grabbed him at one point in the match and cut him so viciously that the blade almost went into his eyeball and blinded Nick for life. That was a side of Abdullah the Butcher which made him a very polarizing figure throughout the wrestling business.
Cutting unsuspecting victims with a razor blade was something I was always cautious of whenever I was within a few feet of Abdullah. STATE OF THE 'E: What Has CM Punk Done For You Lately?

On June 20th, 2011, CM Punk announced that his contract expires at midnight on July 17th, 2011 and that if he wins the WWE Championship at "Night Of Champions" he will walk out of there WITH the Championship in his possession. Literally. Leave the company and all with it.
In my mind, 3 things are going on here:
1.) CM Punk wins, messes everyone's head up and he actually WALKS OUT of THE 'E with their Championship. Now, what would happen? Well duh, that would force them to make a new belt. Which, they have already done so about a year ago if you believe all of the reports. It was said that: "They're just waiting for the right time to debut it."
Well, if Punk leaves the company high and dry, what better option would they have? I can forsee a tournament coming from this as well. THE 'E are building to something big with this theory if I'm proven correct next month.
2.) CM Punk loses, and walks away peacefully. That would certainly mess with people as well. Him promising that he'll leave with a bang and all this noise he's making... it's just something that would be clearly just the right thing to do. And he will be in his hometown as well...
3.) CM Punk loses, puts Cena on the injury reserve list. It's been documented that Cena has been nursing a lot of injuries as of late so, truth be told Punk could easily "beat" John down and that would give him ample time to heal so hea can go against The Rock next year. With that being said, Punk could still leave the company with the Championship and force the ending to option 1. as I stated a little bit ago.
In my eyes CM Punk is one of the greatest Super... wait, WRESTLERS that THE 'E ever got ahold of. I'm glad he's had such a great run with the company. With that, lets reflect on his accoplishments: (In THE 'E)

STATE OF THE 'E: Are We The Worst Fans Ever?

Yes. That's right. i said it. The "WWEUniverse" is actually the worst thing going in THE 'E right now. I'm seeing more and more of it and I don't think it's going to stop. I will give examples on my thought process here. Have fun reading and can't wait to hear the snarmy comments and comebacks! =P
1.) CREATIVE - They are responsible for providing us fans with entertainment week in and week out. I don't know how you guys THINK the world of pro wrestling works but I challenge you to: write out a short term feud, fully script it, get the performers to remember lines, do production on backstage vignettes, make awesome promos for the said matches and try to do this with close to 90 people on a roster. I want you to fully create 52 episodes of WWE Monday Night Raw or WWE Friday Night Smackdown!... not to mention Superstars and NXT also have running storylines as well. It's hard to do. people get fried, it happens. They are human as well and I guarandamntee that if you tried out for it, you'd fail. Prove me wrong otherwise.
2.) THE TALENT - This current roster is actually VERY deep. You say there's no talent? Screw that noise. THE 'E has provided us with MANY people we've been wanting there. CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Sin Cara, Alberto Del Rio, Evan Bourne, Kharma, Justin Gabriel, and many other talents from the "Indies" not only do they have their homegrown talent as well in Orton, Cena, Christian, Sheamus, etc, etc. They have the talent and the roster to have many great things happen. And to me, CM Punk has been on point ever since joining the roster, and many of the others have been reduced to fodder but, for what reason? Well, the world of wrestling has its own reasoning that we'll never fully understand. Don't automatically assume that just because someone isn't on TV that Haitch and the boys backstage are "holding them back." There's reasoning for it. A lot of it, you're not on the "inside" like you truly want to be and 50% of what you read on these sites are true. Grow up.
3.) VIOLENCE - Umm, excuse me but, what are you watching? Week in and week out you watch people get beaten up. That I'm pretty sure qualifies as "violence" THE 'E have guys that when you really look at it are stunt men. The whole world of professional wrestling is pretty much a live action movie from beginning to end. It's not different than going to see "Pirates Of The Caribbean" at Disney World truthfully. Just because there isn't blood anymore doesn't mean a damn thing. Remember, the "home invasion" of Randy Orton by Triple H happened right at the beginning of the "PG Era" and not to mention the beginning of Nexus also happened here too. Just because there wan't any blood didn't make it any less violent. Blood does not make wrestling. True story.
4.) THE ATTITUDE ERA - For some reasons a lot of fans think that professional wrestling wasn't around before this period. And a lot of people automatically remember the promos, the matches, blah, blah, blah. It was crash TV. They threw things to the wall and saw if it stuck. THE 'E wasn't the only edgy thing on TV at that time. ALL of television was getting raunchier and raunchier. People were losing a lot of common sense through this and realistically this time period is where "reality" television was birthed. People kept wanting stations to push the envelope and they did. We saw bare asses on ABC and not to mention the high level of cursing past 10pm. THE 'E was just following this tradition. They weren't pioneers of great television. Hell, if you go back and actually watch "The Attitude Era" you'll notice that more botches occur in that time period than any other. I'm talking from THE 'E, WCW and ECW. They messed up everything all the time. It was high impact, high reward. ALL of television has shifted into another direction. People want things based more realistically, they want things to feel "organic" in a sense. Pro wrestling had to adapt to that. People forget that pro wrestling has its cycles. This is just one of them.
5.) THE FANS -- We are 100% the worst thing that THE 'E has going for it. Because of that flash in the pan of 6 years, everyone thinks that pro wrestling should be about tits, ass, blood, chairshots, and people getting hurt. That is not what pro wrestling was for over 70 years before that. We became the worst thing in THE 'E. Spoiled little brats that throw tantrums when things don't go our way. We whine and whine to the IWC about how wrestling isn't fun anymore about how horrible it is. Here's a fucking clue, if it's so horrible: STOP WATCHING!! Force the program to change again They're still pulling in a 3.1 to 3.5 cable rating weekly. That averages to about 5 MILLION people watching. Granted, they were pulling 5.8's and 6.2's in the past but, every other show was too. People watched a ton of TV back then, now we Tivo, DVR and download. It's a different era and we need to realize that. THE 'E has gone 80's style again. More focused on family and fun for everyone.
I know that when I sit down with my son every Monday night I'm still having fun. I still let it take me away. We're watching a show that costs $1.5 Million a week to make. Average that with Smackdown! and they're throwing $3 Million a week into television tapings. Not to mention the OnDemand channel and their internet shows. They put a lot of money out weekly and during "The Attitude Era" they lost sponsors as quickly as they gained them.
That is going to conclude my rant on this situation at hand. Give them some credit or don't whatever floats your boat. They do a great job and we all continue watching. It's easy to play Tuesday morning quarterback but, I want you to go get a job for THE 'E (Or any other promotion for that matter.) and then you come back and tell me how easy it is to do all of this.

I also want to include quickly my "Top 5" ways to "fix" THE 'E. No "real" explainations considering they're right in your face.
1.) Become A Private Company Again -- Their most prosperous times were when they weren't publically traded on Wall Street.
2.) Evaluate Your Fans -- Hold focus groups to see where the National fanbase stands. Hell, you have a lot of our e-mail addy's. Send us surveys. Not that difficult.
3.) Cut Costs -- With all the lighting, pyro, HD everything, THE 'E is spending $5 Million a week (with everything combined.) Pull back on a lot of things. Nip/Tuck.
4.) Hire Story Editors -- Make them the final stages before VKM. Basically right now everyone pow wow's in a room and then you get things worked out later. That's right and wrong. There needs to be a medium.
5.) Ticket Prices -- Yeah, you have tickets that start out at $20.00 a pop. But they're WAY at the top of the stadium. The last time I took my wife and son to see a WWE Monday Night Raw, it cost us $500.00 -- $350.00 for tickets, $20.00 for parking, $100.00 on merchandise (Program, a shirt for my son and a couple odds and ends.) and like $50.00 for food. (It was over $500.00 acually -- DAMN!) Why do you think attendance is down? In a recession (and coming out of one.) You need to help out your fans.

STATE OF THE 'E: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Push!

I'm fully back 100% now. No crazy meds, and as coherent as a IWC Smark can be. That's what Bitchoff called us recently, right? Either way, I digress... this post is about one thing and one thing only: "The Push" It's a long fabled, time honored tradition in the World of Professional Wrestling/Sports Entertainment.
Some pushes happen because VKM wants to shove a guy down our throats like a 12 inch dong, some pushes happen because the IWC just won't shut up until it does, some pushes happen because a person i just that over with the live crowd. THE 'E nine times out of ten has a valid reason behind what they do, will we always like it? Hell no. Will we accept it? Yerp. Because that's what we do. This current crop of talent has a few guys that can attain the status of Macho Man, Hogan, Andre, Stone Cold, The Rock, Triple H, John Cena, Edge, Randy Orton and Batista.
Yeah, I'm leaving out the Jericho's and Sheamus's because no matter how much love they get, THE 'E still looks at them otherwise. I'm talking about talent that can transcend Pro Wrestling/Sports Entertainment. I'm talking about guys that have "it". Some of them may not show it fully on television but with their personalities, anything is possible. I'd like to take the time to spotlight 5 individuals that I believe have the "it" factor. These guys have never been WWE or World Heavyweight Champion. But, in time they deserve it. In time, these guys will shine bright enough to take on those trials and tribulations.
I will give a brief telling of who they are, what they're about, and why I feel how I do about them. It is in order from who has the most to least but hell, just making it to the "TOP 5" [IMO of course] has merit with me. So sit back, hold on and keep your eyes open at all times.
1.) WADE BARRETT - He was the former leader of The Nexus, a group of dominant heel rookies who were blood hungry like a pack of wolves. THE 'E dropped that ball hard here and Wade then went to SmackDown! to become the "technical" defacto leader of The Corre. Since being with them, he has obtained the WWE Intercontinental Championship. This man is also the first winner of NXT, he's bound to go on to many bigger and better things. He's literally got the whole package right now but I believe in a slow build. They're simmering Barrett right now. Which is a good thing. They're not pushing him too hard in front of everyone.
He's kind of in the background doing his own thing and then one day, BLAOW!! He's gonna be all up in the faces of the main roster.
2.) JOHN MORRISON - I am in no way shape or form a Morrison fan. But what will that do for my list to not include him? It would lack credibility. Although I may not be a fan, denying all of his accomplishments would be retarded... World and WWE Tag-Team Champion 5 times, Intercontinental Champion and ECW Champion as well. This man is just dying to be let loose. The master of Parkour has literally just begun to show u what he's worth... well, in front of the camera anyway. His backstage ways are a bit more questionable. But that's another story for another time.
3.) CODY RHODES - Yes. A million times yes. Remember when we all thought DiBiase would be the major breakout star from The Legacy? Yeah, look at the egg on our face now, eh? Good thing we have these paper bags over our heads to save ourselves. I'm awaiting the day when he finally steps up and all the smoke and mirrors finally go away. He needs a singles Championship. Stat!
4.) ALEX RILEY - Perfect way to build up a guy. He started by being a rookie on NXT2, then became an extra mouth piece for The Miz and now he's broken out and become a major player. Yet, he's never won a Championship outside of FCW. I think he needs more of a slow build. I understand he's hot right now and they need to keep that fire going but, they can at least put a lid on it and let it marinate. DON'T push him to the top right away, let the fans bask in his current self and let everyone get to know him.
5.) ALBERTO DEL RIO - Do I really need to say anything about this one? Really... If I did, it would be pointless. But, you already knew that.
I also want to shout out the "OTHER 5" meaning, the remainder of the "Top 10"... just a sentence worth or noting:
6.) R-TRUTH - This guy has been active for years and finally it seems they have a 100% amazing vehicle for him. I'm damn glad he's finally being thrust into the limelight. The TRUE Captain Insano, and that will set you free!
7.) JUSTIN GABRIEL - He has the look, the style, but he's not a complete package yet. He's not a good hand when it comes to being a mouth piece. Give him a few more sprinklings of season and throw him in to the roaster, he'll come out great.
8.) KOFI KINGSTON - All they need to do is find the right way for this guy. He's lost in the shuffle but he's an amazing hand in the ring. If he ends up without a tile run by the end of his career, it would be a damn shame.
9.) DREW MCINTYRE - What the hell happened to this guy? He was supposed to be oh so great, oh so awesome... this guy couldn't generate heat if he cut open a Taun-Taun and slept in it. And that semi-face crap is crap. Let this guy be himself. THAT would be awesome!
10.) DANIEL BRYAN - I thought long and hard about this final spot. It has to go to him. For some reason VKM and the rest of THE 'E won't let this guy be what brought him to the dance in the first place. Daniel Bryan Danielson is one of the best. His story could transcend outside of what he does, he's got what is needed to take one of those titles and make them his.
And there you have it. I'd prefer that these 10 guys end up with the flagship title being the WWE Championship because I think the WHC only means you're second best. I'm fully back 100% now. No crazy meds, and as coherent as a IWC Smark can be. That's what Bitchoff called us recently, right? Either way, I digress... this post is about one thing and one thing only: "The Push" It's a long fabled, time honored tradition in the World of Professional Wrestling/Sports Entertainment.
Some pushes happen because VKM wants to shove a guy down our throats like a 12 inch dong, some pushes happen because the IWC just won't shut up until it does, some pushes happen because a person i just that over with the live crowd. THE 'E nine times out of ten has a valid reason behind what they do, will we always like it? Hell no. Will we accept it? Yerp. Because that's what we do. This current crop of talent has a few guys that can attain the status of Macho Man, Hogan, Andre, Stone Cold, The Rock, Triple H, John Cena, Edge, Randy Orton and Batista.
Yeah, I'm leaving out the Jericho's and Sheamus's because no matter how much love they get, THE 'E still looks at them otherwise. STATE OF THE 'E: Averno, Kharma Is A Bitch, CM Punk And Macho Man

It's been a while since I've last graced the blogosphere with word noise but, I almost died so I guess that counts for something, eh? But I'm back now, alive and all that good stuff and ready to write my mind on what's going on and has been going on. It's going to be a decent size one I believe...
1.) Averno Signed -- THE 'E has recently signed MCLL Lucha, Averna to a deal. This is great news for Sin Cara because he simply has no one other than say, Daniel Bryan that can match him in the ring currently. and even Bryan had some problems keeping up. I think this is a great way to build up a middle/cruiser/x-division type class. THE 'E sorely needs it and I'm glad they're finally starting on that path. With Cara, Bryan, Gabriel, and a host of others just waiting to get their time to shine, I think it's a great time to start it out. And lets honestly hope they do it right.
2.) Kharma Is A Bitch -- And pregnant. What? Yup... THE 'E waited to debut her for so long that she actually had the opportunity to uh... "Bump Uglies" with her mate. That's a good thing for her and for him. I'm glad that's she's pregnant and I'm glad THE 'E isn't trying to be douchebags about it. Trust be told, it's their fault for waiting so long to debut her. She's been under contract since what, October, November? I mean seriously, that was a long time. I'm surprised it took them that long to do the deed considering all she did was autograph sessions and appearances. Still though, good for her. Congratulations Ms. Stevens!
3.) CM PUNK =( -- What the hell Punk? I understand you're tired and all that good stuff but, don't walk away. Now, I understand that there's more to it than meets the eye considering your name is at stake here so, I'm actually glad you're holding your ground. PUNK was a rare breed from the door. He was allowed to keep his indie name when signing a big time contract with THE 'E. It's because of the previous talents like Mickie James, and a few others who were allowed to keep names that this big fuss is over. PUNK wants to keep his name, Vince wants it incase PUNK leaves THE 'E. That's the major part of the contract problem. Hopefully this can be resolved quickly and efficiently. I'd hate to see such a great talent leave due to mishandling.
4.) OVER THE LIMIT, UNDER THE EXPECTATIONS -- Hmmmm... where to begin? This PPV actually had some DAMN solid moments. King getting retribution, Hart returning, Cena getting WHAILED on, Truth cutting another crazy ass promo, JR calling matches, and not to mention one of the BEST matches in quite some time, Randy Oilton VS. Christian!! This PPV had so many ups and downs, I dunno what really happened... and that was over a week ago now. John Cena gets annihilated for 35 minutes and within 4 minutes of beating The Miz with a belt, he quits? WTF? Yeah, the PPV was a strange one. Was it worth my money? More than likely not. Will I buy Capitol Punishment? Of course. I'm still glad THE 'E are giving us fresher matches every PPV or so. Their quality has honestly become MUCH better this year than in previous years and I definitely have to give The Devil their due there.
5.) RAW IS WHAT? -- Yeah, this weeks edition of MONDAY NIGHT RAW came and went with not much going on except A-Ri finally becoming a face. Now seriously, if they keep his momentum going, That was how you make a star. That crowd was SO into Riley doing his thing on Monday and turning on Miz. It was a great thing and hopefully it lasts because that was a great turn. Captain Crazy R-Truth gave a great performance and another astonishing promo. This guy is great. Glad they turned him into a batshit crazy, kick ass mofo! And with that I'm led again to CM Punk. NOT to talk about contracts but to talk about his tribute. His in-ring gear this past Monday spoke LEVELS as to what The Madness really meant to everyone and more importantly Punk himself. Everything was on point with the tribute from THE 'E all the way down to Punk's attire. I understand that Vince and Madness had a falling out due to things like Steph's cherry being on the line but hey, glad he did what was right by the fans. (And that is purely speculative rumor. There is no concrete evidence that Madness plucked that cherry. Although it is firmly believed.)
6.) THE DEATH OF MACHO -- When Macho Man died, the World cried. Even Chuck Norris. The death of Randy Poffo was a hit to the chest of many wrestling and non-wrestling fans worldwide. It's a travesty and heart break. I still remember watching him and doing flying elbows onto my floor (Which had a pillow version of Hogan, Savage and Warrior all there nestled into the couch cushions I had made into a wrestling mat.) while watching him in all his glory. Watching him against Steamboat is still one of the pinnacles of wrestling and watching him against Hogan still makes me happy. I'm glad "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Ms. Elizabeth are back together. They can snap into Slim Jims and be forever remembered as 2 of the greatest of not only their time but their legacy will transcend generations. Especially in my household. Thank you Randy. Thank you very much. ='/
